Cycle Malvern has got together with a number of similar groups across Worcestershire so that walking and cycling issues get an airing at the county council elections this spring. We are looking for candidates to make real change possible, by commitments to investment and support towards active travel.
The Worcestershire Active Travel Partnership website has just gone live and material is pretty much ready to go out to candidates. For local seats Cycle Malvern can also point to the issues raised on this website, such as the Malvern to Worcester route or green tourism ideas, and ask for views. These will then be published on the web so that voters can take them into account for the elections.
It is still early days with the website – hopefully key facts to back up the bullet points in our candidate letter will appear soon. Plus the list of Supporter organisations is expected to grow significantly – from cycle businesses to walking groups, health bodies to tourism agencies. Do get in touch if you have good contacts with any candidates or potential Supporter groups or businesses etc.
